$MALACHI$
Malachi King aka $Malachi$ was born and raised in Greensboro, NC. The purported grandson of Rock &Roll Legend Ray Charles and his on-again-of-again mistress, blues singer Margret Ross, $Malachi$ has always been surrounded by great music and great controversy. Recent reports have $Malachi$ linked to YMCMB super-band PURPLETAPE alongside much sought after female emcee and Baltimore, MD native LILO. Also on the horizon for the budding young star is the new album from indy alt-hip-hop band KAPIB, which he was rumored to have started studio work with late last year. According to industry insiders, both KABIP, and PURPLETAPE are on the shortlist of bands expected to have break out debuts this year, thanks in no small part to musical phenom $Malachi$.
With seemingly limitless energy $Malachi$ also finds time to moonlight as a staff writer for hip-hop imprint BeatKnockas /Universal , while also heading up his non-profit, Underground Global. When asked how he does it all, the reserved North Carolina native replies simply, “I have help!”
