STH: Please tell us your name and how you came about having this name.
My name is DJ MAKE IT DO WHAT IT DO aka DJ MIDWID. I was given the name by South Florida’s poet laureate Will Da Real One Bell.
STH: How long have you been DJing?
7 years
STH: What are your goals as a DJ in this competitive industry?
1.) My goals within the industry is to put out quality mixes
2.) To travel more and network/collaborate with artist of all genres
3.) To score movies/commercials etc
STH: Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Within the next 5 years I see myself traveling more and being involved more behind the scenes; scoring films etc.
STH: What squad do you represent if any and how did that happen?
I am not affiliated with any DJ crews/groups.
STH: Do you feel that your hustle is being supported? Why or why not?
I know that I am being supported if not I would not continue to work within the industry. For example my event “The Ledge” is a spoken word rooftop showcase that is the first of its kind. Miami is known for the bright lights, unique night clubs/ lounges but it has no culture. Having the experience of DJing over 7 years you tend to see a continuous trend within the scene. Poetry events being held in a bar on the night that is only offered to them by the owner; and it not being held within the same caliber of mainstream events. So a group of promoters and I decided to create a poetry showcase where it would be of the standard of those same mainstream events. We are on our fifth installment of “The Ledge” and we want to keep the momentum going. Feel free to watch the re-cap of the event on www.universemiami.com
STH: For the people that have never met you, how would you describe yourself?
I would describe myself as a laid back person who cares about family, music & health.
STH: What are you working on? Who are you working with? Any Upcoming events to look forward to?
I’m currently working on weekly soul/rare grooves night called Soulful Wednesdays at Tempo Live Lounge, and currently hitting the road to get my mixes spread across the globe.
