On July 15, 2017, T.I. turned to Facebook to make a very public and seemingly sweet birthday shout out to his estranged wife Tiny. The two had been together for 15 years and tied the knot back in 2010. However, swirling rumors about Clifford “T.I.” Harris’s faithfulness to his wife were brought to into a much, much brighter light when Tiny Harris filed for divorce back in December 2016.
T.I. has since been publicly spotted with at least one woman who wasn’t his wife when news of the divorce, the failed reconciliation, and everything in between broke out.
After some months of speculation, it seemed like things had calmed down between the Hip-Hop power couple until Tiny revealed back in April 2017 that the divorce was still on.
While T.I.’s surprising birthday shout out seemed mature and touching at first, it quickly devolved into a typical apathetic and immature “faux-pology.” The Atlanta Rapper writes in his Facebook post:
“And while most of these nosey, no business havin, overly-opinionated,fake caring ass people would see it as a break up... I see it differently. In my eyes, we didn't break up,we EVOLVED into something unconditional. A relationship that supersedes fidelity, physical presence, or any other disagreement we may have faced. What we have is stronger than the bullshit & for that I'm thankful.”
Well, in the eyes of the law and basically everyone else a divorce is a breakup. Secondly, T.I. mentions their now-broken marriage was able to supersede fidelity which undoubtedly got a lot of people talking. However, in the final episode of T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle, the show ends with Tiny confessing that she got her own house because her husband had an affair with her employee indicating she may not have been as open to the idea of “superseding infidelity” as T.I. claims.
The Whatever You Like rapper also writes:
“And while I may have fucked up & still have so many more fuck ups in me on so many levels, one thing that's never gon change is how I consider you.... You are, have been,& always will be one of the Best Friends I have in the world.”
A mature admittance of responsibility, but again a little short in the apology department (maybe that’s later?)
Either way, for someone so concerned about people being in his business it seems a little counterintuitive to have a reality show recording everyone in your home and public social media posts about the state your marriage while simultaneously asking everyone to butt-out, patna.
